Dharma by Venerable Master Yantra Amaro
Let’s make a wish for ourselves and fellow beings… “I pray for myself to be happy, prosperous, peaceful and calm, and in line with the truth of dharma. With the power of merit (Punna) and wholesomeness (Kusala), may all other beings be happy and safe from harm and danger, and rejoice in the merit made from my good deeds.”
The “Triple Gem” means Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Let’s take refuge in the Triple Gem so that we can be peaceful, happy and free of worry unlike those who have no refuge and still doubting if merit really exists. Let’s not worry when giving, try to be generous to our family, friends, neighbours, and as many people as possible. If you have never given anything to or shared anything with your brothers or sisters please try doing so. You will find out how much happiness this gives to them and to you.
Gives with kindness of the heart, body, and words. For the verbal action, let’s say only pleasant words stemming from the Dharma. Before saying anything, let’s think it through thoroughly, and then say it with loving kindness. Let’s try to give as often as we can so that we could develop our good and kind hearts, and at the same time, let’s be mindful, calm, and at peace always.
